The Solar Solution to Energise Your Business

Why It Makes Sense to Run on Sun?

There’s never been a climate more conducive to energy independence. Operational expenses are negatively impacted by rising electricity costs. This disappears when your energy source is solar.

Many regions offer government incentives to install solar systems and companies can profit from power sold back to the grid or from self-consumption. Also governments and corporations are introducing reduced CO2 emissions policies to combat the effects of climate change.

Solar energy is almost always featured as a key component of these strategies. Customers are also demanding that the businesses they patronise do more to reduce their carbon footprint.

Why It Makes Sense to Run on Sun

SolarEdge has helped companies of all sizes move to profitable and clean renewable energy. Our commercial solar solutions have been proven to bring value to a broad range of applications such as:

  • Commercial rooftops including carports, gas stations, shopping centers, and hotels
  • Industrial rooftops including manufacturing sites, factories, and cold storage facilities
  • Public premises including schools and universities, municipal buildings and hospitals.
  • Agriculture (agrivoltaics)
  • Floating systems

SolarEdge enables more energy generation from each solar module by mitigating power losses that result from mismatch between modules. With SolarEdge, weaker modules do not affect the performance of strong ones. The SolarEdge system is future proofed against potential risks that can cause decreased lifetime energy production.

Compliant with the most advanced safety standards, SolarEdge’s SafeDC™ feature is designed to de-energise the solar array to a safe voltage whenever the inverter or grid is shutdown, protecting your property as well as installers, electricians, and firefighters.

Looking to make a smart investment in capital expenditure, we decided to install a SolarEdge system because it allowed us to put more power on the roof. With our SolarEdge solar System performing 10% better than expected, we have already managed to reduce the building’s annual community electricity bills by approximately 90%.

Our roof needed a solution that would make it possible to install the largest amount of solar modules, with the least amount of energy loss due to shading. SolarEdge solution, in addition to generating more power for Supermercado Cristal, it also offers better product guarantee compared to competitive solutions.

By replacing our PV inverter with a SolarEdge solution we were able to improve our energy production by more than 10% and generate higher feed-in-tariff revenue. Using SolarEdge’s monitoring platform we can easily track each module’s performance and better understand the revenue generated from our investment.

How Solar Works and Why SolarEdge Works Better

PV modules generate electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current (DC). Inverters then convert the DC power to alternative current (AC) used to power homes and businesses.

Inverters costs up to 20% of the overall solar energy system but manage 100% of the system production. Therefore, inverter selection is critical for the long-term financial performance of a PV system as it can maximise energy production and reduce lifetime costs.

How Solar Works and Why SolarEdge Works Better

More power. More visibility. More safety.

Here’s where SolarEdge does things a bit differently. SolarEdge power optimisers are directly connected to each module and turn the “dumb” modules into smart modules. The power optimisers increase energy output from your PV system by constantly tracking the maximum power point (MPPT) of each module individually. The performance information of each module is communicated to the SolarEdge monitoring platform to facilitate remote diagnostics and maintenance.

Each power optimiser is equipped with our unique SafeDC™ feature, designed to automatically reduce the modules' DC voltage to a safe level whenever the inverter or grid power is shut down. This is crucial for installation, maintenance, and emergency situations.

More power. More visibility. More safety.
